My Polaroid
An image
Captured in time
A moment
Quickly developing
A blank canvas to start
The colors emerge
A photograph constructed
All the hues,
Together composing a vibrant image
A memory
Never forgotten
Hung on a bulletin board
Rows of rectangular stories
Forming the mosaic of my life
Each glance
A reminder
Happiness framed on the wall
Close friends
Watching over me
Brought along
Through life's adventures
A new perspective
The lens of my camera

Sadie!! This is such a cutie poem, I really liked the enjambment you used, it established the specific phrases and feelings that you wanted the reader to experience. My favorite line is "Happiness framed on the wall." Your used of metaphors like these represented the importance of something so small but meant so much.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your use of metaphors and your ability to give great meaning to just an object, and help the reader undertsand your feeling towards it. My favorite like was Forming the mosaic of my life, because it is really powerful and gives the reader a look into how you view yourself.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how your poem described the process of creating a Polaroid, but your use of poetic devices gave the poem so many more layers.
