Ode to a Hug

Arms intertwined
Like wisteria vines.
Entangled, messy,
But strong and sweet
Spreading love
through any garden.

Pull me from the depths of darkness.
Heal me with your warmth.
Squeeze out my tension
with your tight grasp.
Bond strangers together
So they’ll stick like glue.

I used to be afraid of you.
You were too forward
Too risky
Too intimate.
But now you are my knight
In shining armor.

You shield me from my demons
For they cannot enter
Through the tangled
wisteria vines.
My heat, my caring, my comfort.
Thank you, brave knight.

  1. I really like the imagery and symbolism you used as well as the strong word choice. My favorite lines were "Pull me from the depths of darkness.
    Heal me with your warmth."

  2. I like how you never mention a hug but use really cool imagery and symbolism. I like the repetition of wisteria vines.
