Connecting People’s Lives
Establishing communication,
Connecting lives,
The smartphone’s potential towers above the rest.
Reaching new heights like skyscrapers of a metropolis,
The smartphone triumphs over all else
With its countless possibilities.
Granting the benefit of convenience and efficiency,
Applicable in everyday life,
The smartphone encompasses the world
Like the atmosphere,
Which preserves and enables life to thrive.
The smartphone will live on
And evolve
With humanity’s innovation.
Reaching new heights like trees in a forest,
Branching its leaves off in various directions,
Bearing fruit which will
Beyond the light,
There is always the dark.
The light like Dr. Jekyll,
And the dark like Mr. Hyde.
Dependence, distraction, disassociation.
The world will slow,
And people will suffer.
Choose one side and lose the other,
So have balance between light and dark.
I like how you mentioned the positives of the smartphone so much more than the negatives, because these days everyone mostly talks about how unhealthy it is. Unrealistically exaggerated.
ReplyDeleteI liked this line:"Granting the benefit of convenience and efficiency."
I really enjoy how you played around with your words. For example, my favorite line, or lines, was, "Reaching new heights like trees in a forest,/ Branching its leaves off in various directions,/ Bearing fruit which will/ Nourish people’s lives for many years to come." The metaphor is pretty significant in addressing the poem's central message.
