Finding My Peace In Life
I watch
as the world changes
from blue
to orange
to black.
The water
surrounds
me.
It is crystal clear,
I can see
the sand swirling
and dancing
as I walk.
At last,
I have caught up
to my breath,
which had escaped
my lungs
as I fell down
the spiral
of uncontrollable
paranoia.
Finally,
my mind
is as clear
as the water
that I stand in.
Finally,
I have
escaped
the roaring
fear
within me.
I inhale,
trying
to savor
every
bit of air.
I exhale,
abandoning
I like how this poem doesn't try to be anything that it's not. It's very humble and understated, but also paints beautiful imagery and evokes a sense of peace and self-respect.
