Balance in Life

To encompass the Tao,
one must first embody water.
Like water, humans have many states.

Ice resembles a closed mind,
a specific way of thinking

Vapor is more passive
But too forgiving, at times weak

Water is the perfect balance
Pure yet complex
Soft yet powerful
Fluid yet structured
Common yet rare
Malleable yet impenetrable
Water is the perfect balance

Water is also very simple
It only completes its necessary obligations,
taking the path of least resistance

Today, humans overwork themselves,
Worrying about the outcome of an event and wasting time
People must let things take their natural path
People must reduce their stress and drop obligations

To encompass the Tao,
one must first embody water.

  1. I really like the comparison of water and humans with "humans have many states." I also like the theme of just relaxing and not worrying that much, as that is something I need to think about more often.

  2. Really cool idea about the many aspects of water and how we as humans can learn from them. I wouldn't of thought of this, it's very unique.
