Strength
Even the strongest tree
Is weaker than a blade of grass
In a storm
The tree fights a storm
Wearing down to splinters
But the grass yields
Flexible, moving with the wind
The strong surrender
Even the greatest shark
Is weaker than the smallest fish
Those who swim against the current
Will be swept away
Those who swim with the water
Will find their destination
The strong surrender
True strength is to yield
To let go
And follow the Tao
I like how the poem utilizes analogies such as the tree and the grass to show how to succeed you have to stop fighting against things and instead go with them.
ReplyDeleteI really like the contrast between the grass and the tree and the fish and the shark. That was a really smart way to put your message about yielding across.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of your poem.
ReplyDeleteI really like the examples you use when talking about how the weaker thing is actually stronger. My favorite one was the grass and tree one. It really makes you think.
ReplyDeleteI like how you used these comparisons to show the true strength of things. It went down to the roots of the item and how no matter the size, they can still achieve great things.
