Looking for a Happy Ending

While truth exists only in memory,
The happiness you seek lies in where you choose to end this story.
Life finds itself in the grips of where you shall walk,
And death seeks itself both a rounded story and satisfied means.
The path you choose is not the one you seek,
But the one you know,
Not like your job but like your home.
I am not looking for fortunes,
As the successful are wealthy
And the wealthy are weak.
Will you come to terms with your life sentence?
She’s looking to you for the answers,
And you’re damned if you know,
Yet words still pass your lips in desperate attempt
If only to give her what she wants.
Teeth chattering,
Feet forward, forward, forward and
The winds will chain you,
Steadfastly, to your fate,
As you tread, (don’t stumble)
Towards the beginning of the end.

  1. I like that this is about big concepts like fate and death, very philosophical

  2. My favorite aspect of your poem is how you created such vivid imagery in your poems supporting your key concepts.

  3. I love the concept of going with the flow and they way you presented it in this poem. It really shows how your life is made to be a certain way and there is no reason to fight against it. I also really like the picture you chose.
