The Tao is the One Way

The trees make the only noise, rustling in the wind
Heightening the experience of solitude
Everything is at a standstill
True beauty is in my presence
A treasury of mother nature’s gifts to this earth
Only those untouched and not warped by mankind
I am overwhelmed by the lack of all that is overwhelming
Standing in this desolate wilderness
Thinking about nothing and my mind goes blank
Head in the clouds, yet feet on the ground
Everything is balanced and not succumbing to mankind’s polluted hands
Ozone and the core, layers apart, still existing in harmony
Nightfall and dawn working together to keep the day going
Evergreen and deciduous parting in the winter but accompanying the other in the spring
White clouds and the black soil, distinguishing the sky from the ground
Awe is the only emotion
Yearning is replaced with satisfaction

  1. I really like that the first letter of each line spells out something. I think that's really cool. Your poem is very calming and nice.

  2. I really liked how your poem spelled something using the first letter. I also really liked all the sensory details you added about nature.
