The Humanity of Man

Those who act on the humanity of man
And those who act out the atrocities of humanity
Are neither heavenly
Nor monstrous.
Each holds within themselves,
The equal ability for evil and good.
Each man is the same.

The one who lives in modesty
Appreciates wealth more than the wealthy.
The one who triumphs has also lost.
The one who has lost also triumphs.
The one who speaks
Learns less than the one who listens.
The one who does not compare
Is more successful than the one who competes.

Each has the ability to be the opposite.

  1. I like the contrast you have in the poem because it shows differences, but it is also balanced. I think your contrasts are very true and apply to us.

  2. Your use of words and the way you talk about opposites is absolutely beautiful. Great job
