Of the Gods

The foolish man
believes in his all-powerful,
all-knowing gods
He believes in their magnanimity
and their omnipresence
He believes in his gods
And rejects the Tao.

The wise man knows the Tao
he lets himself drift in its current
he knows there are no gods-
there is only the Tao
that your gods
are only the Tao

The universe was made,
and will be destroyed
by the Tao
Each man was born from
and will return to
The Tao

The Tao is temporal and spiritual
The Tao is God and the gods
It is everything,
and from its omniscience,
the foolish man,
one day
will know.
