The Balance - Tao poem, Sydney Enthoven

The Balance

You must take the good with the bad
You must take the bad with the good
They cannot exist apart
They create one another

Happiness follows sadness
Sadness follows happiness
We can never be one forever
We must accept both

It is not easy
It is difficult
But without difficult
There is no easy

Without Yin, there is not Yang
Without Yang, there is not Yin
They surround each other
They circle each other

They are each other

  1. I like how you used a lot of repetition to emphasize that we need opposites in life in order to succeed in life.

  2. I like how you used repetition and contradictions to emphasize the important aspects of your poem. I also like how you were able to connect your poem to the Yin and Yang.
