The Tao.
It’s everywhere, but it’s also nowhere.
It’s made with opposites here and now,
And it makes up everything everywhere.
It makes up the Yang, and also the Yin.
It makes up the black, and also the white.
It makes up our virtue, and also our sin.
It makes up the dark, and also the light.
Wherever it comes, it finds balance.
The Tao gives itself up to you…
So let yourself be taken by it.
Know who you are, and what you’ll do,
Know yourself, and know your grit.
Know yourself, and know your grit.
For you will be the paragon, if you know yourself to be.
The Tao guides you places.
Follow the Tao’s way.
It guides you to empty spaces,
To a serene and calm display.
Live your life, and let the Tao guide you,
Follow you,
Flow within you,
Control you.

This poem is very contradictory, and it really emphasizes how Tao is all about finding the balance between everything. There are many oxymorons, repetitiveness, and a touch of rhyme which comes together very well.
ReplyDeleteI like how your poem actually rhymes like the poems we were taught in like fifth grade. It adds a different element and it would have made it more difficult to write and rhyme than the majority of the other poems written.
