The brittle stick does not bend
It snaps
The tightened bow does not pull
It breaks
The stubborn mind does not learn
It cracks
Water flows free yet united
It yields to the fish,
Dancing through its currents,
as if the water and the fish are one in the same
Synchronously, the water supports the largest of boats
The most behemoth of all icebergs
The heaviest whale out there in the sea
The ocean is not praised,
Remaining humble, it treats all the same
The master acts like water
Allowing the will of the universe to seep through
While not being usurped by its chaos
The universe is omnipresent;
It is as common as water,
Yet to the keen eye,
It is much more
Realizing this,
The master becomes omnipotent

Your use of water as a metaphor is very well suited to the subject at hand, as it fits the Taoist ideal of maintaining balance with all that is encountered and and yielding to forces beyond control.
