Immersed in Tao

Immersed in Tao
Tao is everywhere.
You find it in your senses
but you can never find it.
Tao is the air of which
is invisible to the eye
untouchable to the grasp
scentless to the nose
deaf to the ear.
And yet it engulfs you,
becomes part of you
if you allow it.

Tao takes your hand
and guides you down the path
To peace
To harmony.

Tao takes your hand
and guides you
into the depths of the dark
To disruption
To fear.

Tao flows within you.
Tao balances you.
Tao is the gravity
which holds you down
and yet

lets you rise.

  1. This poem captures the Tao poem essence very well, utilizing oxymorons and metaphors. It also demonstrates a sufficient understanding of the Tao, showing a lot of forethought and consideration. My favorite aspect of your poem is the sensory detail and alliteration- your poem has a lot of rhythmic elements and descriptive details. Overall, this poem was great that it captures a lot of Tao elements.

  2. I really love how the third stanza captured the essence of the Tao, and how although it will take you into the dark it will show you the way. This really portrays how the Tao doesn't want bad for you and it will always help. The whole poem overall emphasizes on the ways of Tao and I believe it was portrayed amazingly.
