Mind

Power is consumed inside the mind.
The mind bursts with originality,
Overflows in ideas.
Yet it can be filled to its brink with powdery clouds.
Clouds that,
In a glance,
Look supple and delicate
But as soon as fingertips grace its thin veil,
They turn to a vigorous storm.
The concrete mist is sturdy,
Hazes eyes from believing,
Covers the world in a shade.
A monochrome of judgment.
Solely the wind can whisk through the clouds,
Beating down fragile thoughts
That crumble and wrap in the fog.
Concepts that never make it past the storm.
And then,
The mind,
In all its might,
Is weak.
Until the clouds clear away.

  1. woah. This really brings out the part of the tao that uses nature to convey topics and ideas. I really like the cloud metaphor. It shows how life is temporary and that we all need to observe and enjoy, because it will go away soon
