Thoughts are the groundwork of society.
Everything stems from them.
Thoughts are a thousand roaring stallions
Threatening to drive you mad,
Pushing, shoving their way to the front.
In this mass is an imbalance,
A struggle to stay sane against the crazy.
And yet these stallions must remain,
for it is with them that the one thing you need resides.
You must learn to balance the tide;
See the glistening mane,
And grab ahold of the steed
You must surrender your control,
And see where it takes you.
For only once you’ve let yourself be taken completely,
Swept off of your feet,
Will you truly find what you’re looking for.
Will you find the balance of yourself.
I liked how you used metaphors, it was very intriguing to read.
ReplyDeleteI love the metaphor of stallions that you used! It was a nice connection to the teachings of the Tao, and it makes your poem more unique.
