Origins

Does a tree exist without a forest?
A drop of water without an ocean?
A grain of sand without a beach?

All have a source.
And to that they shall return.

For the tree that sheds its leaves in the winter returns to the forest

with the rain.

The drop of water returns to the ocean

with a river.

The grain of sand returns to the beach

with the wind.

All in the same, we cannot exist without the Tao.
For we are from the Tao,
and we shall return to the Tao.

And when we are ready,

we will be born again.

  3. I like the how you connected all the different elements and compared how they would return to where they came from. Overall the message of the poem is very nice; a kind of circle of life theme that is portrayed very well.
